writing

André has granted us with some insights about writing. I'll try to put in words all his ideas:

When we assign a writing we should have in mind ...

why - what will be learned and taught - clear aims - relevance
how - what makes a good writing - work on models, input, instructions - pre-writing activities
integration of skills - feedback as a learning opportunity - group work

Anything else?

Our next meetings

Well, there were some changes in our plans.

We will meet at 16:30 from now on.

On these Fridays:
May 15th
June 5th
June 26th

And we're having an intensive seminar on ...
July 14th - Tuesday
July 15th - Wednesday
July 16th - Thursday

I hope most of you can come.

We have some suggestions of topics for those who aren't presenting anything during the term:
blogging
debriefing
how to deal with different ability levels in the same group
how to maximise production

... if you have another suggestion, feel free to add.

Cheers

Our meeting - April 17th

So ...
We talked about our pedagogical plan and we are taking some actions:
We are having hand-on sessions prepared by ourselves - teachers - one on each day of meeting. Basically, the hour and a half or two hours will be used to cover some admin topics and our sharing of thoughts and experiences.
The ones who were here agreed on the following:

May 15th - Helena (Hell) and Rô will be talking about how to decrease TTT

June 5th - Bibi and Ana will use their experiences to enlighten us how to deal with several issues on teaching kids

June 26th - Paulo and Gabi will talk about how to adapt listenings to students' needs

The idea here is to think together about these topics, build the "presentation" with your own experience in the classroom this semester, using this as a learning opportunity, while exchanging ideas with your colleague, really helping each other.

Have fun!!!

Welcome

Let's share a thought!
